The March 761B used in the 1977 season, was a slightly modified version of the 761 with the shortened wheelbase. The works team’s cars were run by inexperienced drivers Ian Scheckter (as Team Rothmans International) and Alex Diaz Ribeiro (as Hollywood March Racing), both did not score any points. For Ribeiro, who finished 5th in Formula Two in 1976, it was his only full season in F1. His best finishe was 8th place in German and Canadian Grand Prix.
