





Japanese major formula championship, now known as Japanese Super Formula, was held in 1996 – 2012 as Formula Nippon. In the 2002 season all teams had to use Reynard chassis and Mugen Honda (Mugen MF308) engines. Japanese Daisuke Ito drove 99L for Team 22, scoring no points with best finish 8th at Motegi and Suzuka. In 2007 he won the Super GT 500 championship, in the ARTA NSX with Ralph Firman.
