






In the 1992 European truck racing season ZiL started with 4421S model driven by Alexander Markin works ZiL test driver. The truck in 1990 configuration was powered by 600 hp Cummins L10 diesel with mechanical Eaton gearbox. At the end of the season new version of the racing truck appeared, ZiL-4421SE – Cummins was replaced by more powerful Caterpillar 3176 diesel engine developed 900 hp. The truck was also equipped with new 5-speed automatic gearbox ZF 5HP-60, and received new yellow livery. Markin regularly finished in top-10 with highest 4th place in Italian round at Santamonica, Misano, and was 5th in the final Class A championship standings. The model converted from road AVD Models truck represents ZiL-Caterpillar raced at non-championship International Truckprix’92.
