In the beginning of his racing career German Fritz Kreutzpointner raced in Le Mans for Sauber-Mercedes together with young Michael Schumacher and Karl Wendlinger and competed for Mercedes in the German Touring Car Championship and World Sportscar Championship between 1990 and 1992 with limited success. He returned to motorsport in mid-1990s to compete in the FIA European Truck Racing Championship and even won it on two occasions in 1999 and 2001. In the 1999 season, his fifth with TCH Truck Racing Team, Kreutzpointner won 5 qualifying and 12 Cup raced and took the ETRC Super Trucks title with overwhelming advantage.
