Swiss driver Markus Boesiger started his career in motorcycling and took part in the World Motorcycle Championship in 1991-1993. In 1999 he entered truck tracing with his own Pneus Boesiger team driving MAN racing truck. In his first season he was 10th among 12 participants in the Super Trucks Class. In 2000 Boesiger continued with the updated MAN 19.414 FT truck and finished the season 8th with 213 points. He scored his first race win in the first Cup Race of the last ETRC round of the 2000 season at Jarama. Boesiger competed in the ETRC from 1999 to 2014 and won the ETRC title in 2007 with Buggyra.
