Because of the high popularity of Ferrari in its home country, various diecast and magazine collections devoted to Maranello cars has been published in Italy. Among them there are Ferrari Collection which was general collection on road cars; Ferrari Racing Collection on road and endurance racing cars; Il Mito Ferrari, and last but not least, Ferrari F1 Collection. The latter is within the scope of Formula143 interest.

First edition of Ferrari F1 Collection was published by Fabbri Editori in 2009-2010 in collaboration with La Gazzetta dello Sport. 71 issues were published in a weekly basis covering the whole period of Ferrari Grand Prix cars from 1949 to 2010. Two years later, in 2011-2012 French edition of Ferrari F1 Collection was issued by Fabbri in France. The same 71 models but in slightly different order were published.

Soon after Fabbri run the second edition of Italian Ferrari F1 Collection which was published from January 2013 till August 2014. Initially 74 issues were planned, one issue each week, but the actual published collection was extended to 79 cars. The differences from the first edition were minimal: some new cars were added; some cars were assigned to other drivers. The models in the second edition were packed in blister, while in the first edition the blisters were put inside the cardboard box. The title page of the magazine in first edition had red background, while in the second it was black.

In 2013 – 2015 second edition of Ferrari F1 Collection was also distributed in Spain and Portugal by Planeta De Agostini / Altaya Editions. This edition of the collection was published in a slightly truncated format – Spanish and Portuguese collection consisted of 70 issues published biweekly from March 2013 to November 2015. In 2016 Ferrari F1 collection was also launched in Germany distributed by Atlas Editions.
The majority of the models were manufactured by IXO, while 3 Alonso’s cars from 2010, 2011 and 2012 seasons are branded as Hot Wheels. All models from the third La Storia series by IXO / Hot Wheels were included in Fabbri Ferrari F1 Collection, sometimes with minor changes in the appearance of the model.

Full Ferrari F1 Collection (79 models of the 2nd Italian Edition) is present in Formula143 Collection (more models coming soon)
