Elecon

Elecon is a Russian joint-stock company specialized in radio-electronic industry. The company was founded in 1939 in Kazan, Tatarstan, USSR (currently Russia). Its current name, Elecon (short for “Electric Contacts”) the company took in 1982 as Zavod Elecon (Elecon Plant). In 1999 the state-owned plant was reorganized to joint-stock company. Elekon issued first scale model in 1979 – it was KamAZ-5511 dump truck. The production of truck scale models was carried out under the brand AREK until around 1990. Since then Elecon gave its main brand to the scale model unit of the company. Now Elecon manufactured 1:43 scale models of Russian and Soviet  trucks – KAMAZ, ZIL, Ural and others. In relation to motor sport, Elecon produces Dakar and other rally raids KAMAZ trucks of 1990s – 2000s.
